How Performance Lab works
Learn manual trade logging, partial targets, break-even stops, fixed or compounding risk, fees, R, expectancy and drawdown in HRJ Performance Lab.
Journal records and simulations
The manual journal records your entered fills, costs and exits. Quick Performance Test records assumed completed outcomes. These are separate views. The Lab does not place real orders, detect actual fills or establish that a strategy has an edge.
Live prices do not make outcomes automatic
Binance Spot is the default optional public price source, with a 15-second refresh schedule while the page is open and active. You can choose a custom entry or use a fresh source price. The price field helps define an entry; it does not replay a price path or decide which stop or target was hit first.
What do Win and Loss mean?
Win assumes all configured target allocations fill. Loss assumes the full original position hits the original stop before any target. For a mixed outcome, choose the last reached TP and record the remainder at the selected managed stop. Alternatively, record actual partial exits in the manual journal.
Suppose half the position exits at 1R and half at 2R. Reaching both targets produces 1.5R before fees. If only TP1 fills and the rest exits at entry, the gross result is 0.5R. Entry and exit fees reduce both results; an entry-price stop is not necessarily net break-even.
Risk modes and stop management
Compounding risk uses a percentage of the changing simulation balance. Fixed risk uses the same USDT budget per setup. Stop choices retain the original stop, move it to entry after TP1, or step it one target behind after later targets. These are outcome assumptions, not automatically executed orders.
For linear USDT trades, position quantity is risk budget divided by the price distance to the original stop. Leverage changes estimated margin; it does not multiply the same position’s P&L a second time.
Fees and performance metrics
Exchange presets supply standard taker rates for new simulations. Actual VIP discounts or promotions may differ. Quick simulations assume no funding or extra slippage; manual records can include costs and funding.
Expectancy is average net P&L per completed trade. R compares net results with original stop risk. Drawdown measures the decline from a previous closed-balance peak. The losing-streak figures describe consecutive negative recorded outcomes. The fee total includes recorded entry/exit trading fees, separate from funding.
Keep a backup
Records and preferences are stored in your browser on the current device. They are not automatically synchronized across devices or between the separate demo and the main domain. Clearing browser data can remove them. Export a backup and keep actual observations distinct from hypothetical results.
